Last weekend, we celebrated another great event with our high school group. It’s a special commitment that we call “the chastity covenant”, a spiritual milestone for our kids, to help them stay away of sexual relationships before marriage. They are doing this in respect for God, their parents, friend and why not, for their future spouse and children.
We’ve “dated” them at a nice restaurant, preparing the atmosphere for what would be one of the most important decisions of their lives. Rei and the other leaders explained them the real meaning of sexual purity and the truth about marriage as God intended it to be, encouraging them to make this Promise. Everyone who did the covenant received a special bracelet as a sign to remember their Promise. More than that, they signed a covenant and asked their close friend or leaders to be their witnesses. We’re praying for this special moment to stick to their hearts in order to fulfil their Promise.
