Chastity covenant

Another event that we believe is written in heaven’s records is what just happened the last weekend of November. As we usually do, we take our college students on a retreat, away from their busy life and try to spend some quality time with each other and with the Lord. This time we’ve had 148 participants and one third were new comers. The theme of the retreat was God’s design for men and women, what does it mean to be a man/woman.

On Sunday morning we closed our time together with a call for a covenant to purity. I know, chastity is one of the most unpopular virtues of the Christian faith, but, clearly, God puts a strong emphasis on this matter. We were touched to see the response to our call. Over 60 young, good looking men and women have made the covenant. Some of the participants have already made it in the years before. We have seen tears of repentance… one young lady just run out crying for her past sins, but then came back and very determined took one of the covenant papers and sign it and asked two other people to be her witness at that decision. She said she is set for a new beginning.
